Travel With Me – Make-Up Bag

It’s nearly summer and most people will be going abroad on vacation just like me and one thing most of us end up doing is over packing. I am one of those people that will pack my entire room and end up using a small fraction of the things that I take so I thought this year I am going to have to pack a bit wisely.

Today I’ll be showing you what I will be taking with me on holiday beauty essentials wise and hopefully this could help anyone out there in some way if you’re either going abroad on holiday or away for the weekend.

Starting off with my make-up bag it is the Laura Mercier Large Portfolio, although this is rather expensive I felt as though I needed a more organized make up bag and this is pretty handy as it has 4 pouches in it which are different sizes and you can take them out separately if you are not wanting to take the full lot. Also they have magnets on the pouches so they stick inside firmly, it also has a flap in the middle which can be unzipped and one side can hold your make up brushes and the other side you can add any other beauty essentials you would want to take along with you.  The make-up bag itself is sleek and neat and is expensive looking plus it is pretty hard so your items inside won’t get crushed or anything.
I wouldn’t say you need this in your life however if you are needing a new organized make up bag and you want to treat yourself, or someone else wants to treat you or you want to treat someone else then this is definitely the perfect gift for someone else or yourself. There is also a smaller version to this which is more compact and holds less things if you are ever going away for a day or so then this one will be good for you and this is the Custom Petite Laura Mercier Portfolio.

My cleansers, moisturisers, toners, etc will be kept in a separate bag, in this bag will be most of my make-up, palettes and brushes.

Everyone needs to take a primer, especially if you are going to a hot country you don’t want your make up gliding off or anything like that, so I’ll be taking my favourite Benefit POREfessional.

For the day time I would use the Smashbox CC Cream, mainly because this is very lightweight, it contains SPF30 and because of the heat I wouldn’t want a full coverage foundation slipping about on my face so this is perfect for me. But there will be a few nights where I will get all glammed up so I would then want a full coverage foundation and in place of that I’ll be taking either the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation or the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation.
I’ll also be taking the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick to contour my face, I’m such a big fan of cream contour it is the most natural look when you are contouring, rather than just sticking to a bronzing powder.

I’ll be taking my go to concealer which is the Mac Studio Fix concealer, I love this concealer it has all the shades where you can colour correct and brighten up your face so there is no need to take several concealers away with me. I’m the kinda girl that likes a brighter under eye so the Maybelline Erase concealer is a must to take with me.

I’m taking my Ben Nye Banana Powder and also the Mac Prep and Prime Pressed Translucent Powder, these both work for me best especially for my oily skin type and they are very lightweight and not cakey on the face. LOVE! I might even consider taking my Nars Powder Foundation.
Also will be taking the Nars Bronzer in Laguna and two Nars blushes, one is Torrid which is a peachy blusher and the other one is Angelica which is pinky-lilac. My two go to highlighters will also be coming which is the Mac Soft & Gentle and the Charlotte Tilbury Gold Bar Highlighter.

I will be taking my Mac and Urban Decay Naked 3 palette maybe even my Vice 2 palette as it has a lot of colours to choose from, these palettes have stunning colours within them, they are wearable with a lot of outfits.
For my brows I’ll be taking my Laura Mercier Brow Wax and the Sleek Duo Compact, also a few other items for my eyes including the, Smashbox Kohl Eyeliner, L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara, Maybelline Gel Liner, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, Eylure Lashes.

When it comes down to lip products I am always taking too many along with me so I thought I should try to narrow it down and just take my favourites, but I still ended up picking to many Mac Riri Woo, Mac So Chaud, Mac Flat Out Fabulous, Mac Pink Plaid, Mac Up The Amp, Urban Decay Liar, Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect, Nars Terre De Feu, Revlon Kiss Me Coral, YSL 29. I’ll also be taking two lip liners because I can’t apply lipstick without lining my lips, so Mac Soar and Mac Cherry lip liners will be perfect.
That is all the make-up I will be taking along with me, it may seem a lot or it may seem like not that much to some people but I might not even use it all.

My palettes, brushes or any extra products will be kept in a separate bag as it all won’t fit in the portfolio.

I hope this helped anyone out there who is going on holiday or away for the weekend!
