Make-Up Menu – The Everyday

I thought I would start an episode where I would share with you what makeup goods are on the menu, I’ll also share a wee selfie so you can see what the ‘menu’ will look like on my face.

Todays menu will consist of my daily makeup, now I personally like my base to be full coverage but I try to use minimal products just because for everyday we don’t want to have so many layers on our face as it can clog up pores on the skin. When my hair was lighter I felt as though I could get away with wearing a lot less make up, but as I am back to dark hair I feel as though I need slightly more colour to the face. On the odd occasion I like to put some eye shadow on keeping it neutral with taupe’s and creams but for today I’m going to leave that out and just show you my most basic everyday winged-eye, nude lip makeup.

Before I always do my make-up I always spritz some of the Mac – Fix plus on my face. I like how it soaks into the skin so quickly and for me makes doing my make up a lot easier. I always moisturise well before hand I do my make up, so I prefer to spritz my face rather than moisturise again.

Primer – Bare Minerals, Prime Time.
I used to love my Benefit Porefessional to bits, but since I got introduced to this guy, I have literally been using him everytime I do my makeup. This is what you call a primer, my make-up altogether sits so perfect, it fills in the little pores I’ve been kindly gifted with and my foundation sits very smooth like, if that makes sense. I love it!

Foundation – Smashbox CC Cream/Urban Decay Naked/Nars Powder Foundation
I like to mix these two foundations together, because for everyday the CC cream is good as it has a spf of 30 and also because keeps the skin tone balanced. I like adding the Urban Decay as it’s very lightweight but it gives the skin a more dewy healthy finish look, with more coverage. Then I set all that with the Nars Powder Foundation, I love this formula, it’s really creamy and I don’t find this cakey at all on the face, even though it’s a powder foundation it still lets the skin look dewy which is what I love, plus it gives more coverage. Just to let you know I try and avoid concealer just because my foundation etc gives me plenty coverage and I don’t have dark under eyes, but in the odd occasion if I ever break out really bad then I would just get my Mac concealer palette out.

Blush & Contour – Nars, Torrid & Benefit Hoopla
Personally I think Asian skin tones suit more peachy blushes as oppose to pink ones, I find pink ones are too much, and as we have very warm skin, so peach tones sit very balanced, I love Nars Torrid as it’s very natural for everyday and still makes the skin appear healthy. For everyday, I do like a slight contour, just enough to make my face look slightly structured, and putting come colour back to my face.

Brows – Mac Brow, Striked/Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade, Dark Brown
My Brows take the longest, for me the brow game expectations are very high, so I like to put some time & effort into them and try to make them look as natural as possible and not too bold and sharp looking, the Mac pencil outlines them perfectly, still giving it that natural look & shape, then I fill it in with the pomade which I love as my brows stay in place with the pomades creamy texture preventing them from flying around the place.

Eyes – L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara, Black & Maybelline Gel Liner, Black.
The wand for the L’Oreal Telescopic mascara is my most fav ever! It catches all my lashes on the wand and makes them look forever long, but I find this so liquidy so I have to sit with the wand out to let it dry slightly. For my gel liner the Maybelline is my most favourite one because it doesn’t dry out at all like most brands plus, the black is very bold.

Lips – Mac Lip Liner, Soar & Bobbi Brown Lipstick, Beige.
I like my lips to be outlined with Soar because, you can mix this liner with most nude lipsticks, plus it is a mauve/pink, slightly darker than my lips so it makes them look slightly enhanced. I love the Bobbi Brown lipstick as it is very simple for everyday, it completes any make-up look I go for plus I like how it is slightly lighter than most of the nude lipsticks I tend to go for.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my everyday winged make-up, that is it all pretty much! Maybe on my next post I’ll let you know what brushes I use etc and give you any tips/tricks that help me with doing my make-up.
