Christmas Dinner Party

Hello my loves! I hope you are all doing well! I woke up from a nap not long ago, I felt so exhausted today, waking up early to go to work, but finally after that lovely nap, I’m feeling refreshed.

Last year me and my sister were going to have a big Christmas Dinner Party at our house but we never got the time to plan it. So, this year we decided we should definitely throw one, which we did and I’m going to tell you all about it.

Everyone that knows us, would know we go all out when we throw a party and when I say all out I don’t mean going over board and making it tacky. Just adding all the small bits and bobs that make it as a whole lovely evening.

I bought majority of the things from Amazon and B&M to decorate. I loved the whole concept of having the candles at the dinner table, it just made it a more relaxed cosy dinner. It was the perfect lighting for a selfie despite 1 or 2 of us caught our Christmas hats on fire, but hey there’s no party without some drama.

The Gingerbread House was a cute little touch on our coffee table. It was a little flat pack Gingerbread House from Ikea, which was around £3 and my sister was up till 2am decorating it.

Then my favourite part, the FOOD!!! First time I ever made Gol Guppy aka Pani Puri. It’s basically a crisps poppadom shell with a filling of chickpeas and mashed potato and some spicy, tangy water. This was literally the best one I have ever had, and I literally spent my morning looking for the best recipes and a lot of them were just to much, so I made it up as I went a long.

We had some Roasted Ginger Chicken and some Achaari (pickled) Potatoes which was marinated over night. There were also kebabs and crisp spring rolls filled with chicken mince.

Then there was the trio desserts. We had simple plain Cupcakes with buttercream icing, Strawberry Triffle and for the first time I made Chocolate Mousse with a biscuit base and it was topped with a Ferrero Rocher.

If you are planning a dinner party with family or some friends, then you do not have to go all out, it’s the little touches that make it so perfect.
Overall it was a perfect evening, with some old school Christmas songs, some good old laughter, a lotta picture and the most perfect company, what a way to spend the last month of the year with a dinner party with my favourite friends. Can we appreciate how beautiful they all look!

Sincerely Sophs x
