Since we are now in Spring, I thought what better way to kick start this new season with a post reminiscing about the Fashion Favourites for this hectic Winter we’ve had!
The fashion trends for this Winter 2017 have been amazing, we’ve had the big ‘Red Alert’ which was one of my favourites, waist belts, the formal business look, greys, co ords, big knitted statement jumpers and also long dresses styled with ankle boots.
I thought I could share some of my favourite styles from a variety of people such as celebrities and social media influencers.
Firstly lets talk about one of my favourite trends for this Winter, where things started to get heated with red being the colour of the season. I normally stay away from bold colours like red but I couldn’t resist styling it as there were so many brands that had brought out lovely items. Zara was probably the main store that dedicated a range of clothing and promoted red quite a lot, they had everything, slinky dresses, masculine coats and statement jumpers. Here are a few of my favourite looks put together by a few people that I feel stood out for me.

Waist belts have made a big appearance since last year and it will most definitely not be going of fashion for a while as it is will be a big trend for this Spring 2018. Whether it’s the wide belts or skinny belts, these will be styled to cinch in everything from coats, knits and dresses. I’m sharing a few of my favourite looks that have been created when styling the waist belt.

The 80s is a big comeback for Spring this year but before this the 70s vibe became a big thing this winter especially when it was being styled as co ordinate pieces. Chunky suits with bell bottom trousers were a big statement and also keeping on track of the 70s vibe, jackets with shearling collars became so popular. All saints, Zara & Marc Jacobs brought out a few statement aviator jackets with the shearling collars.

Sticking to the previous trend for the co ordinate suits it became a big trend to start looking a lot smarter and going for that working class, office look towards the nearer the end of the season. Long length suits with shoulder pads and double breasted opening but this has been modernised to have a more flattery appeal, where the suits are cinched in from the waist giving a more silhouette appearance which can be worn day or night.

Chunky knitwear was one of my most go style trends this winter. Its so effortless to style, it looks great on and you still look trendy. For me H&M brought out some really lovely statement pieces, they were perfectly oversized and could be styled with pretty much anything, skirts, trousers etc.

The great thing about some of these trends is they have been an on going trend every season for the past 3-4 years. For example, the chunky statement knitwear or midi skirts, you will probably already own some pieces in this trend that you’ve styled this past winter. Make sure you hold on to them as there will be no doubt it won’t be in fashion for the next Winter Season.
